BIAM joins State Street Global Advisors
Dear Customer,
This morning BOI Group announced that State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the global asset management business of State Street Corporation, has agreed to acquire Bank of Ireland Asset Management (BIAM).
State Street Global Advisors are a global leader in fund management. With assets under management of $1.9 trillion as at September 2010 and a presence in 28 locations worldwide, they are one of the largest managers of institutional money in the world.
BIAM and SSgA are no strangers to each other, as they already have a strong and successful working relationship through BIAM’s passive offering.
This sale is subject to regulatory approval and will take a number of months to complete. But, today, it is business as usual at BIAM. Monies invested continue to be managed in the same way by the same people. There are no changes to any arrangements that Bank of Ireland Life have in place with BIAM.
We at Bank of Ireland Life look forward to continuing our partnership with BIAM.
